How Our Program Works

Send Garments & Receive Loaners

We make garment collection seamless with two convenient service models that eliminate downtime. Your staff always has access to clean, safe protective equipment while we handle the rest.

RadOnsite Service

Our team comes directly to your facility to deliver loaner garments and collect your inventory for servicing. Schedule pickups based on your department’s needs with zero disruption to daily operations.

RadShip Service

We ship containers, packing instructions, and loaner garments directly to your hospital. Your team packs the garments for service, and we handle all return shipping with full tracking.

X-Ray Scanning & Inspections

Radiographic inspection is performed annually to verify the integrity of the garment’s protective material. This critical step identifies which garments are safe to use and which need retirement.

Comprehensive X-Ray Imaging

All garments are scanned to detect cracks, tears, or defects in the lead protection that compromise radiation safety. Even small imperfections create exposure risks that visual or tactile inspections miss.

Digital Documentation in RadComply

Every scan image is captured and stored in RadComply® to track the integrity of each garment over time. Year-over-year comparisons show exactly when protective materials have deteriorated beyond safe use, helping you make informed replacement decisions.

Garment Repairs

After inspection, all garments are assessed for cosmetic damage that can be repaired to extend their lifespan. We replace broken buckles and worn Velcro, mend torn seams and ripped straps, and add hanging straps to skirts. These complimentary repairs keep garments in working condition longer, directly reducing your annual replacement costs.

Inventory Management

Each lead garment receives a sewn-in ID tag that enables seamless scanning and tracking in RadComply®, our cloud-based compliance platform. Before garments are added to the system, our team documents the manufacturer, manufacturer date, and other critical details. From there, RadComply serves as your digital command center – housing annual X-ray inspection records, cleaning logs, repair history, warranty status, and replacement forecasts. For hospitals juggling compliance and budgeting, RadComply simplifies both. It eliminates manual data entry, supports audit readiness, and gives leadership real-time visibility into inventory condition and lifecycle costs.

Deep Cleaning & Disinfection

Our proprietary two-step cleaning and disinfection process goes far beyond surface wipes to eliminate the bacteria, sweat, and debris embedded in fabric fibers.

Step One: Deep Cleaning with Specialty Agents

Each garment is cleaned using friction and a proprietary blend of cleaning agents that penetrate fabric to remove dirt, sweat, debris, and dangerous bacteria. This process removes stains and contaminants that have seeped into the material over time. Since you cannot disinfect a dirty surface, it is then ATP tested to confirm that it’s been effectively cleaned before the disinfection process.

Step Two: Professional Disinfection

Once surface contaminants are removed, each garment undergoes a high-level disinfection process using hospital-grade solutions proven to be bactericidal, viricidal, fungicidal, and sporicidal. These agents eliminate hard-to-kill organisms like Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium difficile, and even MRSA spores that often remain in garment fibers after routine wipe-downs. Our disinfectants were carefully selected and validated to ensure effectiveness without degrading garment materials.

Why Wipes Aren’t Enough

Wipes don’t clean—they only move surface grime around while sweat, fluids, and pathogens soak deep into the fabric. The result? Contaminants stay embedded and multiply. Only professional deep cleaning with friction-based removal and medical-grade disinfectants can fully eliminate what’s lurking beneath the surface and protect your team from exposure.

Garment Disposal

When garments reach end of life due to compromised protective materials or irreparable exterior damage, they require proper hazardous waste disposal. RCS provides EPA-approved disposal services that remove and recycle protective materials responsibly. Available as part of our full-service offering or as a standalone service, we handle the entire process to ensure environmental compliance and legal disposal.

Garment Replacement

When garments reach end of life, RCS helps you choose the right replacements to maintain protection and comfort. As a master distributor for top manufacturers, we match you with the right brands and product options for your team’s specific needs.

Evaluate Protection & Fit Options

We help you assess protective material options and ergonomic fits to ensure your team is both protected and comfortable. This matters especially for surgical teams wearing garments for hours during procedures, where additional weight and fit can impact performance.

Automatic Integration

New garments arrive pre-tagged and inventoried in RadComply with warranty tracking activated, for RCS service customers. Your entire inventory stays managed in one seamless system from day one.

Ongoing Service Included

Garments purchased through RCS automatically receive annual X-ray scans, professional cleaning, and complimentary repairs as part of your service contract. No separate vendor management required.

How RCS Can Transform Your Garment Care

What you likely do today

Rely on sporadic wipe-downs that offer limited clinical effectiveness and fail to meet current infection-prevention expectations.

Allow routine wear and damage to accumulate, eventually discarding garments and draining capital budgets to replace them.

Spend valuable staff time wiping down aprons, scanning them manually, and trying to manage garment care on top of patient care.

Accumulate old or damaged garments in storage closets or back rooms with no efficient process for disposal or recycling.

Lose an annual average of $164,738 in labor and downtime by sending staff for after-hours X-ray scans or taking rooms offline.

Leave patient and staff safety vulnerable — increasing organizational risk and exposure to litigation.

With RCS you can

Rely on a multi-step cleaning and disinfection process developed with CDC guidance to meaningfully reduce contamination risk.

Extend the life of your garments through routine repairs instead of unnecessary replacements.

Give valuable time back to your staff, allowing them to focus on patient care rather than apron management.

Remove old or damaged garments efficiently through proper, compliant disposal and recycling services.

Save an annual average of $164,738 by eliminating overtime X-ray scans and avoiding room shutdowns.

Strengthen patient and staff safety with best practices that reduce liability and support full regulatory compliance.
